Photography in mind? Planning your pre-wedding or post-wedding shoot or portfolio or music video? Want to avoid the city crowds? Looking for serenity? You love nature and at the same time, you have limited time in hand?
If all the answers to the above questions are YES then Baranti Lake is yours.
Location:
Baranti is a very small and interior village in the district of Purulia, West Bengal. Situated very close to the industrial township of Asansol and adjacent to the border of Jharkhand.
Reaching and accessibility:
One can reach Baranti from various points.
One can reach there from Asansol by road. It’s about 1 hr drive from Asansol Railway Station. Or you can take a local train to Adra or Purulia and drop at Muradi station and take a cab or toto to Baranti Lake.
On the Dhanbad-Asansol route, you can drop at Kumardubi Station and take a cab or Auto rickshaw to Baranti in around 1 hr.
From Purulia, you can reach Baranti by car. It’s about 40 km. Alternatively, you can take a local train to Asansol and drop at Muradi.
Accommodation:
Baranti has a couple of good hotels and resorts around the lake. One can book the accommodation online or after reaching there.
How good is Baranti:
Actually, Baranti is pretty good from the photography aspect. There is plenty of space we can use for the shoot. Baranti is a part of Chotanagpur plateau. There are forests, plantations, rocky uplands and most importantly the beautiful lake. The best time to visit Baranti is obviously the winter. In fact, you can visit Baranti anytime in the year but from the photography aspect, we will suggest you visit in the winter. You will be mesmerised by the beauty of the landscape.
Executing the shoot:
We prefer to shoot in the morning and in the afternoon as far as the ambient light is concerned. However, if we manage to get some shade in the wilderness we can shoot even having the sun right above our heads. Baranti lake has all four sides accessible but only three of them can be accessed with a vehicle. All the other sides have different backgrounds and they can provide different perspectives for the shoot. In simple terms, you will get different backgrounds for each side of the lake. Out of the 4(or 3) sides, some are good for the morning and others are good for the evening. You can cover the whole place in 2 to 3 sessions which can produce a good number of photos.
Dress selection:
As of landscape is concerned, we prefer ethnic over western unless you are really leaning towards western. From the photographic standpoint, ethnic or Indian traditional dress will blend perfectly with the landscape. We also suggest you, choose light colour dresses as the background is already vibrant but in the morning you can wear a moderately saturated colour.
As far as the props are concerned, we will suggest you, use meaningful ones rather than highly popular colour smoke and cut-out props.
The Plan:
There are many amazing places nearby which will help you to get a bulk of perspectives to your shoot. We will share our experiences and expertise to get you more amazing shots out of your pre-wedding (or post-wedding) shoot.
We always believe in doing photography which is not flooded with unnecessary props, we like doing it very simple which is meaningful, elegant and becomes eternal. So that when you see those photographs after few months or years you literally go back to that moment and can cherish it with your partner. We believe our simplistic approach to pre-wedding or post-wedding photography creates that feel or urge in you that you will come back to those photographs time to time to cherish those moments.
There are many things those are technically and aesthetically important for a shoot, we need to discuss face to face. So if you like our work and want to book us, please drop an email at aniruaniruddhapandey@hotmail.com or WhatsApp on +91 9474648482 and we will be right there for you.
Let's plan it together and help you get some of the most amazing photographs of your life.
